What is a diamond?

A crystal formed entirely of carbon atoms is called a diamond. When a diamond crystal forms naturally, it takes on an exact and pure octahedral structure. However, most diamond crystals encounter different heat or pressure, or even other diamond crystals, during their growth, which can change their form and properties. When the polished gem emerges from the soil, these modifications contribute establish its shape, color, and clarity.Aside from having the best brilliance, luster, fire, and dispersion of any natural material, diamonds are also the toughest material known to man.
