A late Victorian pearl and diamond tiara, to the centre a cluster in the form of a flowerhead, set with seven pearls and forty-two old European and rose-cut diamonds, to two graduated openwork slides each slide set with eleven pearls graduating in size, surrounded by one hundred and five old European and rose-cut diamonds, the diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 11 carats, converting to necklace with detachable back section, set with twenty-one old European-cut diamonds set alternatively with nineteen natural pearls, the diamonds estimated to weigh a further total of 3.75 carats, all mounted in silver and yellow gold, circa 1890, the tiara measuring approximately 3.3 x 16cm, gross weight 52.7 grams, This antique tiara is in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as 14ct gold and silver, with 9ct gold frame.
