A vintage French Rocaille-Style necklace and on-the-ear clips with diamonds suspending South Sea pearls. This demi-parure consists of marquis-shape clusters of diamonds perched between ornamented motifs in a French Rococo spirit. The collar-length necklace features a fringe of pear-shaped pearls, draped as decorative passementerie.
Complimentary drop earrings mirror these motifs and also wear beautifully on their own. Both adornments are exceptionally dimensional – with undulations of gold elements modeled on nature and curved into airy negative space that is both playful and elegant. Diamond weight approx. 70.00 carats total. 10 pearls ranging from 13 to 13.5mm; 1 center pearl in necklace measures approx. 14.5mm. Collar inner circumference measures approx. 15″, approx. 0.87″ in width tapering to 0.50″, approx. 0.30″ in height off the neck. Note the fringe length which extends an additional 1.5″ from the collar necklace; with shortest fringe measuring approx. 0.95″ in length. Includes a hidden pressure clasp with foldover safety. Earrings measure approx. 2″ in length overall, 0.60″ in width, 0.40″ in height off the ear. Ear clips are currently for non-pierced ears, however, posts can be added for pierced ears. Made in France. Includes French assay marks and unknown maker’s marks; circa 1980s.
